As a person-centred psychotherapist based in Southampton, my passion is to help people deal with
trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grieving, and addictions. I am committed to helping individuals to
heal from their trauma and rediscovering their
inner strength and resilience. My career as a therapist began when I earned my bachelor's degree in Person-Centred Psychotherapy. During my training, I realised the person-centred approach had a profound impact on making clients
feel seen, heard, and valued. The approach's emphasis on the therapeutic connection as a catalyst for healing and growth struck a deep chord with me.
In addition to my person-centred training, I hold a diploma in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I use ACT methods as a complementary modality, adapting my approach to the specific needs of each client. This combination enables us to collaborate on a therapeutic plan that fosters awareness, acceptance, and committed action in line with
personal values. In my work with clients, I create a
safe and non-judgmental environment in which they may explore their experiences and feelings. I believe that each client is an expert on their own life, and my duty is to help them on their journey towards
healing and self-discovery. I use a variety of methods to help clients develop a deeper understanding of their experiences and emotions, including empathy, reflection, validation, and exploration of core beliefs and values.
One of my strengths is helping clients build a sense of
self-compassion and self-care. Many of us who struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, and other issues often grapple with feelings of shame, guilt, and low self-worth. I work with clients to challenge these negative beliefs and develop a more positive and compassionate relationship with themselves.
I recognise that the impact of trauma and other issues extends beyond the individual, affecting their relationships and interactions. Therefore, I also work with clients to navigate the complex dynamics within their relationships, fostering healthier and more
supportive connections. I'm committed to ongoing education, I stay up-to-date with the latest research in trauma therapy and regularly attend workshops and retreats to deepen my own self-awareness and healing journey.
